We pay tribute to one of the legends of the New York artistic scene: Leonard McGurr, aka Futura. His ever-evolving creative vision has influenced media, genres, and minds of all kinds and is ready to make its mark in the world of footwear. Futura is one of the pioneers of graffiti: yet, with this work, the artist rejects labels and conventions, without betraying his iconic style. On subway cars, in prestigious art galleries, and even in museums, Futura's creations reinterpret the concept of space through colors, characters, and typography.

Futura Laboratories, a commercial brand and design studio, has joined forces with Nike's skateboarding division to create this special edition Dunk Low, marking a return to the origins of collaborations between the Swoosh and artists, with elements from Futura's paintings enhancing a classic Dunk look.The faded canvas serves as the background for this design, which features colorful outer layers, embossed print details, custom artistic graphics on the tongue label and the insole, as well as a semi-transparent sole that reveals Futura's iconic signature. The contrasting stitching and laces in two coordinated shades complete the design of this Futura Laboratories shoe, which showcases the structure of the original Dunk Low to evoke its long collaboration with Nike SB.
