SWATCH X OMEGA BIOCERAMIC MOONSWATCH MISSION TO THE NEPTUNE MOONSHINE GOLD

The OMEGA x Swatch Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to Neptune Moonshine Gold – Blue Moon, reference SO33N101-108, is a special interpretation of Mission to Neptune created in 2023 as part of the Mission to Moonshine Gold series.

The model retains the navy-blue configuration of Mission to Neptune, with case and dial in deep shades of blue, but adds one specific element: the central chronograph seconds hand coated in OMEGA Moonshine™ Gold, produced during the August full moon in tribute to the Blue Moon.

Mission to Neptune dedicated to the August Blue Moon

During 2023, OMEGA and Swatch developed eleven Mission to Moonshine Gold editions, each connected to a specific full moon and characterised by a different interpretation of the central chronograph seconds hand.

For the August edition, Mission to Neptune was selected: its blue palette naturally echoes the Blue Moon theme, while the gold-tone hand introduces the detail that distinguishes this version from the standard Mission to Neptune.

Swatch specifies that the hands for this Mission were produced during the August full moon.

Chronograph seconds hand coated in OMEGA Moonshine Gold

The identifying element of reference SO33N101-108 is the central chronograph seconds hand coated in OMEGA Moonshine™ Gold.

It is important to distinguish the material correctly: the case is not made of gold, nor is the entire MoonSwatch made from Moonshine Gold. The treatment applies specifically to the chronograph seconds hand, while the watch itself remains built in Swatch Bioceramic.

The gold tone stands out against the blue dial and is the main visual difference from the standard Mission to Neptune SO33N100, which instead uses a white central hand.

Blue Bioceramic, quartz chronograph and black VELCRO

The case is made from blue Swatch Bioceramic, a composite material developed by Swatch consisting of two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced material derived from castor oil.

The configuration follows Mission to Neptune: blue dial, three chronograph subdials, blue bezel with tachymeter scale and black VELCRO® strap.

The model uses a quartz chronograph movement. The case measures approximately 42 mm in diameter, 13.25 mm thick and 47.30 mm lug to lug, with a stated water resistance of 3 bar.

The dial features the OMEGA x Swatch, Speedmaster and MoonSwatch signatures, while the tachymeter scale retains the characteristic dot over 90 detail derived from the OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch design language.
